today's project. small. gleaned rosehips. herbs from a winter garden. decoration for a gift.

a little wedding gift, p. II: bridesmaids

it was fun to be given the flowers. we supplemented

a few dozen roses- a good green-white, some lavender-

and a sweet brilliant cloud of baby's breath that seemed

to have landed at safeway just in time. the final results

were a bit afield of what we might've brought forth if left

to our usual buying patterns; boundaries and budgets

often result in finding new ways to do good things.

not sure if there's a greater

joy on earth than creating

something with someone

who is dear to you. (this was

such fun!) all of these wedding

flowers were straight from the

local market- the one with eggs

and milk and butter in glass cases,

not the local (& quite sweet) farmer's market.

flowers for the bride, her three bridesmaids, the

mothers, the groom & the groomsmen probably

cost less than a dozen long-stemmed roses sent

from the local florist. (actually, certainly less.)

the bride provided most of the flowers. we just

wrapped and tied and pinned and added ribbons.

it seems to have fit the bill perfectly, and each one

was made [total approx. 3 hours] with love. simple stuff, love.

actually, the best stuff there is: love.

margot hartford took these photos- i'm meeting with her tomorrow, as we're

planning on working on a few projects together. in the meantime, wanted to

begin to share a bit of the marvelous wealth. these are just a few, and only

screen shots. must add that some favorites are saved for later- stay tuned.
