only connect

"Only connect! Only connect the prose and the passion, and both will be exalted, and human love will be seen at its height. Live in fragments no longer."

E.M. Forster

encore

I'm hoping 20x200 has another
[like] Nymphenburg coming
soon. I missed this one and still
wish it was hanging in my house.

Isn't it funny, the things we wind
up loving that we didn't quite expect
to love but then we fall absolutely
irretrievably head over heels over?
[Jen is excellent at finding these things.]

Nympenburg:

"...for a writer always studies, looks, and listens."

(duly noted: this is an encore post because the book is like
sunshine, and sunshine is a very good thing in February)

Do they still really have prizes
in Cracker Jack boxes?

Paul Varjak: Oh yes.

Tiffany's salesman: That's nice to know...
It gives one a feeling of solidarity, almost
of continuity with the past, that sort of thing.
